Week 27 Reviews: Blood Trade, Beneath a Blood Moon, Black Water, Black Arts, Off the Grid

From Goodreads:
Jane Yellowrock is a shape-shifting skinwalker who's always up for a fight--even if it means putting her life on the line...

The Master of Natchez, Mississippi has a nasty problem on his hands. Rogue vampires--those who follow the Naturaleza and believe that humans should be nothing more than prey to be hunted--are terrorizing his city. Luckily, he knows the perfect skinwalker to call in to take back the streets.

But what he doesn't tell Jane is that there's something different about these vamps. Something that makes them harder to kill--even for a pro like Jane. Now, her simple job has turned into a fight to stay alive... and to protect the desperately ill child left in her care.

From Goodreads:
Jane Yellowrock and the Younger brothers, partners in Yellowrock Securities, are hired by the state of Louisiana to track, hunt, and dispatch a small pack of marauding werewolves. They may be part of the larger pack that Jane destroyed in the novel Mercy Blade. The job sounds easy on the surface, but is anything ever easy for Jane or her Beast?

From Goodreads:
When Jane killed a small pack of marauding werewolves, she had no idea that the female had a brother in Angola prison. John-Roy Wayne swore vengeance, escaped prison, and kidnapped two young women. Jane has no choice but to go after the human, who is far worse than she ever expected.

From Goodreads:
Jane Yellowrock is a shape-shifting skinwalker who always takes care of her own—no matter the cost....

When Evan Trueblood blows into town looking for his wife, Molly, he's convinced that she came to see her best friend, Jane. But it seems like the witch made it to New Orleans and then disappeared without a trace.

Jane is ready to do whatever it takes to find her friend. Her desperate search leads her deep into a web of black magic and betrayal and into the dark history between vampires and witches. But the closer she draws to Molly, the closer she draws to a new enemy—one who is stranger and more powerful than any she has ever faced.

From Goodreads:
In Off the Grid, Jane goes on what looks like a simple mission for the Knoxville blood-master—finding a missing Mithran. Her search leads Jane to a young woman named Nell, a woman with a scarred past and a strange power, a woman who may hold the key to saving the missing vampire, if Jane can convince her to assist.

My Review:
Reading these books was just great! This series has been fantastic since the beginning, and I've almost caught up to what's been published! Yeah! And a lot happened in these books, lots of stuff resolved, so yeah, that was great!

I'm glad that I read this section of the series together, because it dealt with one bad guy, and then some of the fallout. And we learned more about vampires and their history, which was really interesting!

Beast is just awesome! From her understanding of the world and the wisdom that she has, countered with being very literal-Jane saying going nuts, and Beast saying she's not like a squirrel. And her delight at her new mass! And that her contact with Hayyel changed her and Brute! I needs more!

One great thing that happened, is that Jane now owns the house! Which is really great, because its become a home to her over the course of the series, so yeah, that was really great! And she'll be able to upgrade it and stuff!

There are things that are kinda hanging on her head-the creature that is probably the same species as Soul, the European Vamps coming sometime, but again, other things were resolved, so there was a good balance of action and future action! And we were introduced to Nell!

Loved reading these books, just so much, they're so enjoyable, and I can't wait to read more of this series!
